Iotspot - Insightful hybrid working
The company Iotspot from Den Bosch asked Kommerkors to design a device that assists the modern office worker to find a workstation. A payment system can also be linked to this device so that workstations can be rented by the day or by the hour.
Modern organisations often no longer have permanent desks. Instead, employees swarm through open-plan offices. It often seems as if all places are occupied, while in reality there is still plenty of space. This causes stress and inefficient use of the space.
iotspot came up with an innovative solution to this problem. This solution uses The Internet of Things (IoT): a device is built into the worktop that is connected to the Internet. Using an app on his or her mobile phone, the employee sees at a glance which workstations are available and can already reserve them.
Furniture from furniture manufacturers Drentea, Vepa and EromesMarko is equipped with this system.
Kommerkors is responsible for the design. The minimalist style gives every working environment a modern and connected look. The flat device is easy to integrate into the worktop. A luminous circle shows in different colours whether a workplace is free, reserved or occupied.
